Embark on an exciting adventure across Sentrum, Oslo’s diverse city centre, right after disembarking the cruise ship. The Norwegian capital is one of Scandinavia's most fascinating and spectacular cities, generously filled with historic, touristic, and architectural sites. Our new walking tour offers you a perfect chance to acquaint yourself with this remarkable city!



Our guide will meet you right at the cruise port. You will start this thrilling journey across the city centre of Oslo from the visit to Akershus Fortress – a genuine landmark of the city that has protected the city for centuries. While strolling and observing the territory of this time-honored castle, our guide will tell a story about what an important role this formidable structure has played in the history of Oslo.



Another remarkable building you will see on this tour is the ultra-modern Oslo Opera House, which, despite having been constructed just in 2007, has already become one of the iconic attractions in the city. While continuing to stroll down the city centre, you will walk past Barcode Project – a section of sleek-styled, high-rise business buildings in the neighborhood of Bjørvika. After walking on foot for so long, we stop for a short coffee break – a perfect time to relax, get a coffee, or talk to the guide (please note that the cost of food and drinks is not included).



Eventually, you will reach Karl Johans gate, the city’s famous two-lane central street, full of shops, boutiques, clubs, and prominent historic and architectural sites. The first important building on this street is Oslo Domkirke (or, as the locals gently call it – the “Dom”), the main cathedral of Oslo, which also features decorations by renowned Gustav Vigeland.



Then, the tour’s route lies past Stortinget, the building of the Norwegian parliament, as well as other architectural masterpieces: Grand Hotel, National Theatre, and Oslo University. This square is a perfect place to explore and enjoy the atmosphere of Oslo, which is bustling and full of people all year round. In the end, you will notice a magnificent palace located at the end of the street – this palace was built for that very Karl Johan this street is named after, even though he, after all, did not have a chance to reside here. As you will walk through the royal garden while observing the palace, our guide will narrate the dramatic story of its creation.



The walking tour comes to an end at Aker Brygge, the city’s main port and one of the most vibrant areas. On your way, you will walk by the iconic red-brick building of Oslo City Hall (and, by the way, we suggest you enter it after the tour ends), and you will learn about the history of its construction and how it changed this once-impoverished neighborhood.



By the end of this tour, you will have seen the best attractions of Oslo and walked through the city's most interesting, spectacular areas.
