The visit will begin in the Plaza da Ferrería where we will begin to immerse ourselves in the history of the city. Here we will learn about its seafaring past and how it has become the city it is today. We will see the best-known monument in the city, the Virgen de la Peregrina, and also the Ravachol parrot.
The first part of the visit will cover the old layout of the city walls with the church of Santa María as the most outstanding monument. We will talk about some curiosities related to the old sailors of the city next to the Lérez river.
From the first bridge over the river, we will enter the different squares and streets that the Old City has, the second largest historic centre in Galicia, with a multitude of pedestrian streets and a magnificent walk around the river.
We will also talk about Galician traditions and gastronomic products. In fact, our visit will end at the Mercado de Abastos de Pontevedra, a magnificent place to explore the fresh products of the Pontevedra estuary and where you can try many of these products first-hand.
