Il programma nel dettaglio
This is an expedition that begins early in the morning from El Calafate. We will take the mythical Route 40 bordering Lake Argentino, and cross the Santa Cruz River where we will narrate the experiences of Darwin with Fitz Roy and his expeditions.
Then we will continue to La Leona River, and stop at La Leona Roadhouse, almost a museum of Route 40, where you can have a coffee with homemade cakes. From there we will continue our way bordering the Viedma Lake seeing the Andes Mountain Range, including the Fitz Roy, Cerro Torre and Viedma Glacier.
We will arrive at the mountain village of El Chaltén after 3 hours of traveling. After receiving the welcome of the youngest town of Argentina, we will continue our way to the begining of the auto guided trails that takes you to the viewpoints of Laguna Capri for Fitz Roy or Mirador Torre for Cerro Torre for which the guides will provide a map, a lunchbox and advise you on the different trail options depending on your physical condition. The passengers who prefer to not do any trekking, can visit the town of El Chaltén on their own.
From October to April
Option between taking an auto guided trekking or 2 short trekking’s with the guide (Chorrillo del Salto and Mirador de los Cóndores)
From May to September
Due to low temperatures, join the guide to do Chorrillo del Salto and Mirador de los Cóndores trekking and enjoy a hot meal in a restaurant with main course.
Lunch at the ranch (main and dessert to choose). Does not include drinks.
