Il programma nel dettaglio

Head just south of the border from San Diego and discover the fascinating city of Tijuana, “The Gateway to Mexico”. Take in all of Tijuana’s main attractions including the main street with its historic roundabouts, each featuring a statue of a hero from history. Pass by the famous Cultural Center, the demolished Tijuana Bullring, the Water Tower and the Hippodrome before making your way to Avenida Revolucion, the entertainment heart of the city. Here you take part in the Tijuana tradition of making your own taco at a lovely Mexican restaurant before browsing the various shops and bars and heading back to San Diego.

A very young city, only founded at the end of the 19th century, Tijuana grew rapidly and is now the largest city in the Baja California Peninsula. Being on the border with the United States, it is the gateway to both Northern and Central America and is the busiest border in the world with over 50 million people making the crossing annually. Your expert local guide will lead you on a tour of this vibrant city’s many landmarks beginning with its Paseo de Heroes or Street of Heroes.

Pass by Abraham Lincoln, the Aztec Emperor Cuauhtémoc, Simon Bolivar and many more on this famous street. Then head to the remains of Tijuana’s Bullring, once home to some of the most skilled matadors in the country. Marvel at the city’s giant water tower and explore the hippodrome where frantic horse races take place. Make and eat your own delicious Mexican taco, filled with guacamole, salsa, cilantro and onion and check out the lively Avenida Revolucion, the tourist hub of Tijuana and home to its thriving nightlife scene.
