March through the Gateway of India, visit a Jain temple, experience first-hand a ‘true’ Mumbai tradition and visit a vibrant market plus more with this half-day Mumbai city tour. You will visit parts of the city few visitors ever see and catch a glimpse of what everyday life is really like for the millions of residents in this teeming metropolis.

The Gateway of India is the symbol of the city, which is be seen by all those arriving by sea. This 26 metre-high yellow basalt arch was erected on the waterfront in to commemorate King George V's visit in 1911. It has a further symbolic element as the last British colonial troops to leave India marched out through it. Drive past the Afghan Church, the Secretariat of the Maharashtra Government and along Marine Drive, which is popularly known as the 'Queen's Necklace'.

Visit a beautiful Jain temple and the Hanging Gardens, where you can enjoy spectacular views of the city, Chowpatty, Kamala Nehru Park, the Prince of Wales Museum and Mani Bhavan, where Gandhi stayed during his visits to Mumbai. See the picturesque Haji Ali Mosque, which is on an island 500 metres out at sea that’s linked by a causeway to the mainland.

Stop at the Dhobi Ghat, where Mumbai's 'dirties' are scrubbed, bashed, dyed and hung out to dry. Watch the local train passing close by on which the city commuters 'hang out like laundry'. Continue to the colourful Crawford market and to the Flora fountain in the heart of the city.
