Discover how to cook real Italian with this cooking course in the enticing flavours offered in traditional Venetian bacaro or, in other words, an informal restaurant and wine bar. Bacaros are frequently visited by both locals to lunch, dine and socialize amidst a selection of the finest Italian wines and the best imported beers. On this tour we invite you to cook and enjoy a meal at the osteria (tavern) Ai Assassini. As you enter the lively restaurant, you will soon be charmed by its vibrant young feel, which stands in sharp contrast with the environment’s well preserved traditional style.
You encounter different atmospheres depending on when you choose to go. At lunch time, you share the space with a gang of regular local clientele. These usual customers are all professionals who normally work in the nearby city hall, courts and the Fenice opera house. They come to the bacaro to shoot the breeze while enjoying a leisurely lunch break.
On the other hand, if you visit the bacaro for dinner, you encounter a mixed clientele of locals and visitors who come expressly to enjoy the characteristic atmosphere and cuisine of Venice. The food here is always of the highest quality and is served with the most professional care for the smallest details.
