Come to the Barcelona Zoo and let yourself be surprised. Get to know the more than 450 species living in this zoo: the descendants of Copito de Nieve (Snowflake), felines, reptiles, tropical birds... and have fun like you never had before with the marvellous dolphin's show. Barcelona Aquarium located at the Port Vell in the centre of Barcelona makes for a fascinating day out for all the family. Come and dive into the depths of the oceans and discover an unfamiliar and fascinating world. You will get to come right up close to this magical and mysterious world finding out more about its denizens and its more curious aspects. Located at the Port Vell in the heart of Barcelona, the Aquarium is the most important sea life leisure and education centre in the world dedicated to the Mediterranean and the largest in Europe. A series of 35 tanks, 11,000 animals representing 450 different species, an underwater tunnel 80 metres long, six million litres of water and an immense Oceanarium, unique in Europe, with such diverse species as giltheads, morays, ocean sunfish, rays and two kinds of sharks, make Barcelona Aquarium a unique leisure attraction that has been visited by more than 14 million people.

Among its other attractions are the coral reefs, unique architectural creations of spectacular beauty. You’ll be entranced by the mini-aquaria where you get close up to the fascinating world of seahorses and other smaller sea creatures such as the marvellous sea eagles and colourful sea anemones. At Planeta Aqua you will be able to see how sea life has adapted to different climatic conditions the highlight being a penguin amphitheatre where you can even see these beautiful birds swimming under the water. All in all a perfect day out for the whole family.

Start/opening time: L’Aquàrium at 9.30am. Zoo at 10am.

End or closing time: L’Aquàrium: Monday to Friday at 9pm. Weekends, bank holidays, June and September, at 9.30pm. July and August at 9.30pm, and bar at 9.30pm.

Zoo: 1st January – 29th March, at 5.30pm. 30th March – 15th May, at 7pm. 16th May – 15th September, at 8pm. 16th September – 25th October, at 7pm. 26th October – 31st December, at 5.30pm. Christmas Day, open until midday.
