Il programma nel dettaglio
Immerse yourself in the beautiful nature and the rich history of Panama as you are guided along the Camino de Cruces, an ancient gravel road built by the first Spanish colonisers almost five centuries ago. Long before the famous canal linked the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans the thick jungle rainforest made the journey from coast to coast almost impossible. This pathway was built out of the necessity to link the two oceans and became vitally important to the settlers. Admire the natural beauty of this National park and learn all about the fascinating early challenges that faced the colonizing Spanish forces.
Walk this 10 kilometer trail and be exposed to the very best of Panama’s lush vegetation and abundance of exotic wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for toucans, eagles, poisonous frogs and wild pigs amongst many other fascinating species as you wander down this historic path. Take yourself back in time to the true days of exploration and put yourself in the shoes of the very first Westerners who discovered the seemingly unlimited natural beauty of this ecosystem.
Your expert local guide will tell you fascinating stories about the role Panama played in the colonial era and will point out the key landmarks on the trail. A key aspect of the early colonial era was the hunt for the natural treasures of the Americas and this route played a key role in shipping hordes of gold and silver back to Europe.
