Il programma nel dettaglio
Travel through the ages with the Cartagena hop on-hop off bus, on a journey that will take you from the ancient past to the modernist future while enjoying a fascinating guide in complete comfort. Admire the winding streets of the old town and the graceful elegance of the restored seafront promenade of a city that can trace its history back more than 2,200 years.
The bus travels through the heart of the city, following a route that doesn’t miss out on a single detail about Cartagena. It sets off from the Paseo Alfonso XII, where some of the old city walls are still standing. The bus passes – and has stops near – the Municipal Archaeological Museum and the landmark Regidor building. Explore the University campus and alight at Calle Gisbert to take the panoramic lift up to Concepcion Hill for stunning views over the city and harbour.
Learn all about Cartagena’s fascinating history, which predates its founding by the Carthaginian general Hasdrubal the Fair (a brother-in-law of the legendary Hannibal who crossed the Alps with his elephants). The ruins of the Punic Walls still remain from this era. You can hop off here just like at the air raid shelters from the Spanish Civil War in the 1930s.
