Il programma nel dettaglio

Seville is one of the most important homes of bullfighting and the Real Maestranza Bullring can be said to be one of its main temples. In this guided tour you'll learn all about this noble art and its history in the city of Seville. Visit the arena itself, as well the Bullfighters' Chapel, the Stables and the Bullfighting Museum. Admire the massive collection of bullfighter's suits and capes as well as posters and a large number of paintings.

This famous bullring dates back to 1749 and is now one of the city's most visited tourist attractions. It's built in the city's typical Baroque style. You'll enter the arena through the famous Prince's Gate – you won't fail to be impressed by the sensation of open space, of the air of the pastures of where the bulls are raised. Admire the beautiful ceramics, statues and the impressive Royal Box, only to be used by members of the Spanish Royal Family.

Then we'll tour the bullfighting museum with its extensive collection of bullfighting prints and paintings. The Paintings Room contains a collection of oil paintings from the 18th, 19th, and 20th Centuries. Scenes in the countryside and in the bullring, bullfighters and personalities connected with the bullfighting world are captured in works by Gutiérrez de la Vega, Eugenio Lucas, José Elbo, Joaquín and Valeriano Domínguez Bécquer, José Jiménez Aranda, Horace Vernet, John Philip and Nicolás Ruiz de Valdivia, among others.

We'll also visit the splendid stables and perhaps the highlight of the visit, the poignant Bullfighters' Chapel, dominated by an altarpiece of the Virgen de Nuestra Señora de la Caridad, object of great devotion of the matadors and to whom they have made numerous votive offerings.
