Founded by the Romans in the first century AD, Cologne went on to become an important and flourishing trade route during the Middle Ages and today is an exciting cosmopolitan city and major cultural centre.



Take in the highlights of this diverse city from the comfort of a double-decker bus that will take you to all the most famous sights, including countless churches, the harbour, the Hohenzollern Bridge – where lovers leave a padlock to prove their love – and without doubt the highlight of the magnificent Kolner Dom Cathedral. This is one of the largest and most majestic examples of Gothic cathedrals in Europe, started in 1248 but only completed in 1880, and is now protected by UNESCO.



Take time as well to do some shopping on the lively and vibrant Schildergross, Germany’s most visited shopping street. Finally, take a break to try a Kolsch, not only the spoken language in Cologne but also the name of their famous locally brewed beer.



Our trip also includes a visit to the picturesque town of Limburg. Discover the old half-timbered house as you meander through the narrow twisting streets and alleys.
