See some of the most scenic villages in southern France and appreciate the Pont du Gard Roman aqueduct with this tour of the picturesque Provençal countryside. Stroll through Les-Baux-de-Provence and admire the hilltop villages of Gordes and Roussillon, which both rank among the most beautiful in France. This afternoon tour of Provence allows you to bathe in the most spectacular scenery of this beautiful landscape.
Be awed by the Pont du Gard, a stone bridge aqueduct built by the Romans in the first century to supply the village of Nimes with water. One of the most visited monuments in Provence it is one of the best-preserved aqueducts of the Roman Empire and is a Unesco World Heritage Site. Wander through the historical pedestrian centre of Les-Baux-de-Provence, a glorious medieval village perched in the Alpilles Mountains. Surrounded by olive groves that produce a well-known olive oil, Les-Baux is certainly picturesque.
Driving through stunning landscapes with breathtaking views of the Luberon Valley, you reach the villages of Gordes and Roussillon perched upon the rocky hills on the Plateau de Vaucluse. Gordes is famous for its architecture with dry stones, including a 12th-century castle. Perched on the southern edge of the plateau, the panoramic view from the village to the south is wondrous. Roussillon sits in a deep green pine forest on bright red-ochre hills providing a feast for the eyes. The tiny village is also beautiful to have a stroll through to discover its many beautiful sights.
