Il programma nel dettaglio
Come and experience the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula, the favourite holiday destination for many Kiwis, on this fully-guided day tour. Discover forested mountains, with the Pacific Ocean to the east, and the sheltered bays and coves of the Hauraki Gulf to the west. Enjoy a memorable day in this area, historically associated with kauri logging and gold mining as you admire the breath-taking landscapes and stunning coastlines.
After you are picked up from your hotel, sit back and enjoy the scenic 90-minute drive south-east to Coromandel's main town, Thames, where we’ll take a short break. From here the spectacular western coast road snakes to Coromandel township where you can visit the studio of renowned New Zealand potter, Barry Brickell. From here, we’ll take a ride through the rugged mountain landscape on the quaint Driving Creek Light Railway.
After alighting, we’ll go for a quiet stroll through the pristine rainforest as you admire some of the magnificent kauri trees that once covered the Coromandel Peninsula. Then we’ll continue across the mountains and make the descent down towards the eastern coastline where we’ll stop for lunch. Don’t miss Hot Water Beach with its hot geyser in the middle of the beach. Go for dip in the bracing waters of the Pacific if you wish!
From here it’s just a short drive to magnificent Cathedral Cove, where the Pacific Ocean washes through a natural arch onto a white sandy beach backed by white cliffs. Then we’ll head back over the hills to Auckland taking a different route.
