Your local guide will share tales about jailbreaks and the convict era right through to the latest info about Fremantle. Finish up this tour at Western Australia's oldest building: The Roundhouse.

Starting at the Town Hall, the tour winds its way through Fremantle, renowned for its well preserved architectural heritage, including convict built colonial era buildings and one of the most notorious prisons in the British Empire, the World Heritage Listed Fremantle Prison. The locals here were as hard as nails with salty sea dogs rubbing shoulders with newly arrived immigrants to create a city full of characters – some of whose stories you’ll be amazed to hear.

Freo, once home to whaling stations, is now a charming little city which is celebrated for its variety of restaurants and multicultural history. You will hear astounding stories of escaping Irish convicts, bushrangers, its importance as a port during World War II and the shameful expulsion of Aboriginals to Rottnest Island.
