Il programma nel dettaglio

Spend a day far from the hustle and bustle of Valencia in this boat trip around the idyllic Albufera, a nature reserve and birdwatchers’ paradise situated just 15km to the south of the city centre. Enjoy a 45-minute boat ride around the slow-moving water channels, rice paddies and fresh water lagoon before sitting down for a traditional paella, Valencian style.

The Albufera is a fresh water lagoon and estuary situated just south of the city of Valencia. Traditional occupations here include fishing, hunting and the cultivation of rice in paddy fields. The extensive wetlands are an important stopover point for migratory birds and one of the most important natural reserves in Spain.

In this guided boat tour, you’ll cruise around the complicated network of channels of slow-moving water, reed beds, wetlands and paddy fields moving before reaching the fresh water lagoon. Your expert guide will help you to spot some of the many species of birdlife that make this area their home. Look out for the flocks of migrating geese and ducks in spring and autumn.

Then back on dry land, we’ll visit a traditional barraca, the typical thatched cottages used by the inhabitants of the Albufera as for dwelling. Next it’s time to pamper your taste buds with a delicious meal at the renowned Mateu restaurant just opposite the pier. Sit down to delicious paella, Valencian style, accompanied by a drink and a home-made dessert.
