Il programma nel dettaglio
Take a tour around some of the most emblematic landmarks and buildings in Mexico City. Get to know more about bullfighting in the largest bullring in the world as well as a guided tour inside the Azteca Stadium, home to the Club America football team. You’ll also pass through the city’s southern neighbourhoods, Coyoacan and San Angel, and discover the hidden depths to the oldest capital in the Americas.
The tour starts with a visit inside the monumental Plaza de Toros, Plaza Mexico, the world’s largest bullring with 41,262 seats, which still holds an annual bullfight to mark the anniversary of its opening on 5th February 1946. We then venture right through the oldest colonial neighbourhoods in the area: Coyoacan and San Angel. Coyoacan is a former village, and still enjoys a somewhat rural setting, where people come for the many restaurants and bars in its popular historic centre. Named after el Carmen monastery, San Angel was a rural community until it became part of Mexico City’s urban sprawl, and is the stop before we head into the Ciudad Universitaria, home to the Estadio Olimpico. It was designed by Augusto Perez, Raul Salinas and Jorge Bravo Moro and its architecture is a feast for the eyes.
We continue on the theme of sport and stadiums and journey to the Azteca Stadium. Here you get unprecedented access to all the part of the stadium: the stands, court level, locker rooms and the press area as you feel like a sporting champion roaming around the stadium. We will even send you a memento photo via e-mail at the end of the tour to remember this special day.
