Take an afternoon stroll through Bergamo and take in the delights this medieval mecca has to offer. Visit the glorious Cathedral, the town hall, the baptistery and the central piazza as you discover a place bursting with history and culture situated at the foot of the Alps.
Journey through the old town, known locally as the 'Città Alta', where the Fifteenth Century medieval walls that once protected the hilly old town of Bergamo stretch out for more than five kilometres, unveiling hidden secrets of how the Celts, Goths, Romans, Lombards and Venetians all made this place their home.
Ride the funicular from downtown to the top of the hill where your guided walking tour will take you through the Piazza Vecchia, the heart of the old town, and on to remarkable historical and religious monuments such as the town hall (Palazzo della Ragione), the St. Maria Maggiore cathedral, the Colleoni chapel and the baptistery.
