The hotel is housed in a stylish 19th-century building which started life as a school in 1895. The hotel is located on Roelof Hartplein, an ideal location in the middle of Amsterdam-Zuid. From here, guests can easily walk to the well-known Museumplein, where the Concertgebouw, Stedelijk Museum, Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum can be found. Vondelpark, P.C. The hotel itself used to be a school and the restaurant is housed in the former school gym and is large and bright with an open kitchen and serves predominantly Dutch/International cuisine. There is also a terrace where in the summer, drinks may be served as well as the trendy hotel bar which is very popular amongst the local Dutch inhabitants and offers an alternative atmosphere with plenty of low seating, as well as bar seating, fireplaces and music.As the name suggests, this building used to be a school and has been restored to its former glory which is very traditional in design with a small garden at the entrance with flames lining the pathway.The lobby is very attractive with exposed brick walls and a small seating area in the style of a private drawing room with many different materials on the walls, on the floor and in the seating arrangement.
