Twizel is located on the main highway between Christchurch (approx 4 hours driving) and Queenstown (approx 3 hours driving). Its a township that was developed during the pioneering era of the South Island. Located just 60 km from Mount Cook National Park and the mountain of the same name. The area is great for outdoor sports and activities in some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world.Standard Rooms: The majority of rooms are X2 Queen Beds, there are some rooms that have X3 Single Beds or X1 Double Bed and X2 Single Beds and one Standard Room has X1 King Bed - these must be requested at the time of reservation. The rooms can accommodate a maximum of 4 guests sharing existing bedding. The hotel will not guarantee bedding unless requested.Open every day of the year, the Mackenzie Country Hotel is the perfect choice.
