The only way is up with this thrilling cable car ride over Madrid. Enjoy bird's-eye views of all the main sights and landmarks in the Spanish capital while listening to a recorder commentary. The journey will take you from the Parque del Oeste to the Casa del Campo, from where you can observe the city from the café terrace.

Your adventure begins at the Paseo del Pintor Rosales near Arguelles Metro station, crossing the River Manzanares and climbing high above the Casa de Campo park. You'll see such famous attractions as the Plaza de España and the Egyptian temple of Debod from a completely different perspective. Other landmarks in your panorama include the Parque del Oeste with its famous Rose Garden, the 231-metre high Torrespaña communication tower, the Royal Palace, the Almudena Cathedral and the Chapel of San Antonio de la Florida. The trajectory is about 2.5km (1.5 miles) and the cable car is never more than 40 metres (131ft) above the ground. There are 80 cabins, each holding six passengers. At the Casa de Campo station, visit the restaurant and bar complex and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views over the city. Relax on the terrace as you savour a refreshing drink, ice cream or maybe just a coffee.

Start/opening time: January and February: from 11am to 6pm. March: from 11am to 7:30pm. April and September: from 12pm to 8pm. May, June, July and August: from 12pm to 9pm. October, November and December: from 11am to 7pm.
