Not a fan of crowds and staying in crowded tour buses? This Istanbul nature tour is for you! Spend the day outdoors as you view historic neighbourhoods, medieval fortresses, stunning botanical gardens, and lush forests.
Skip the crowded tour buses and board our comfy, air-conditioned vehicle that will bring us to our first stop of the day, Arnavutkoy. Located on the shoreline of the Bosphorus Strait, Arnavutkoy is home to many historic buildings, Ottoman mansions, and quaint restaurants. The most famous of the buildings is the prestigious Robert College. Wander around the area and take in the buildings and architecture before heading to our next stop.
Up next is the Rumeli Fortress. This medieval fortress was commissioned by Ottoman Sultan Mehmet II in the mid-1400s as part of his campaign to capture Constantinople. It took more than 3,000 people to build this massive fortress in just four months! Today, the fortress is now an open-air museum that also hosts events such as concerts and festivals
(Entrance fee to Rumeli Fortress is not included).
After marvelling at the impressive Rumeli Fortress, we’ll head to the Ataturk Arboretum. This tranquil oasis in the northern part of the city is every nature lover’s dream. With serene lakes and almost 2,000 different kinds of flora from all over the world, it is a great place to stroll around and take in the nature around you.
Our last stop of the day is at Belgrad Forest. This deciduous forest is known as one of the greenest places in the city. Spend the rest of the afternoon picnicking in the forest grounds, taking in the beauty of nature, and having fun with friends and family.
