Bali, Indonesia |
Some of Bali’s best diving and snorkelling is off the coast of Nusa Penida, an island that lies about 40 minutes to the east of the main island of Bali, this area is also where the legendary Manta Point is located.
This area marks the start of the fabled “Coral Triangle” the worlds most biodiversity marine environment. However along with its prolific marine life and crystal waters,’ this area can be subject to strong currents, therefore skilled boatmen and guides are needed to find the best, and safest, spots to snorkel and dive. Participants should be experienced snorkellers and comfortable in the water. If you have any questions, please send an enquiry to our sales team.
Travel to Nusa Penida departing from Sanur beach and using Licenced ocean-going speedboats, rather than the local “Jukung” – this allows us quick and convenient access to the best dive and snorkel spots this area has to offer. Not only Manta Point but also places like Crystal Bay, PED, SD Point, The Mangroves etc. Many people make the journey to Nusa Penida each year to seek out the migrating “Mola Mola” as they follow the colder currents that flow past the islands around Nusa Penida.
The high season for sightings of Mola Mola or the Giant Ocean Sunfish is traditionally between July and November each year, but Manta Rays are present at Nusa Penida all year round and we interact with Manta Rays on approximately 95% of our dives, and this is a much sought after diving & snorkelling experience.
But even outside the high season Mola Mola can still be sighted and the diving and snorkelling around Nusa Penida is truly spectacular and well worth the effort, Sun Fish are spotted sporadically all year round, so there’s always the chance of a sighting. This tour is perfect if you like: Family activities, nature, jungles, local life.
