The idea of the Christ the King Statue came about in 1934 during the visit of the Cardinal Patriarch, D. Manuel Gonçalves Cerejeira. During his visit to the city of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, he saw the imposing image of the Christ Redeemer of the Corcovado and wanted to carry out the same construction in Lisbon.

After the visit to the Christ the King, the tour continues to Sesimbra with a photostop at Cabo Espichel. Cape Espichel bounded South and West by the Atlantic Ocean. It marks the southwestern tip of the Setúbal Peninsula.

Then, once in Sesimbra, we suggest a walk along the promenade, next to the beach, where you will find excellent fish restaurants.

You will have the opportunity to see afar, on the hilltops, the imposing castle of Sesimbra, classified as a national monument since 1910. Access to the castle on the hilltop, can only be done by hiking routes.

In Sesimbra you will be able to find street art in the old urban center of the villa, made by group of artists in 2014.

Located on the sado River, the city offers visitors the best and freshest fish and seafood.
