Program

Day 1:
Depending on the flight schedule, you will be accompanied to the airport of Dar Es Salaam, where you will embark the flight that will take you to Mafia Island. The flight taks only 30 minutes and never reaches too high altitude, therefore from the window you can admire the magnificent waters of the Indian Ocean and the coasts of this spectacular island. The archipelago of Mafia is located about 120 km south of Dar Es Salaam. The main island is Mafia and is about 48 km long and with a maximum width of 17 km.
The Whale sharks are one of the most important attractions of this area as there are not many areas in the world where, when it is the right season, it is possible to swim in the company of these giants of the ocean.
A car will wait for you to take you to the other side of the island through the Marine Park.
You will have to stop at the entrance to pay the entry rights (only by credit card) and you will arrive at the beach of Utende from where a boat will take you to the island of Chole.

Day 2:
Chole is a splendid island of archipelago for which it used to be the capital and where there are still several historical ruins that date back to the 13th century.
It is inside the marine park which extends for about 822 sq km, 75% of which are underwater. its waters are ideal for snorkeling and diving.
An uncontaminated marine habitat that includes coral reefs, seaweed, mangroves, coastal forests and bush.
It is known, above all, for two species of turtles that use its beaches to nest. You can admire more than 380 species of fish, humpback whales, sperm whales and dolphins.
Chole Mjini is one of the most unusual and special places to be; it is a serious echo lodge that has not been reached by mass tourism yet.
You will feel in a castaway fantasy that finds refuge on an island in the jungle. It is a place that is suitable only for that specific type of person who appreciates simplicity and leaves room for nature to make the senses awaken.
The giant baobabs and the many birds will make the scene of a film.
Have a sundowener under the amazing sky and enjoy the breeze from the sea.

Day 3:
Enjoy another day in Heaven. You can ask for a mat to have a yoga session with a fantastic view, you can take a walk in the village to see the trees where the flying foxes rest, the mosque and the shipyard where everything is still built by hand, you can ask for a quick local cooking and handicraft course or simply find a corner to relax.
Enjoy a magical evening under the stars and let the ocean sound sing a lullaby.

Day 4:
After a relaxing morning and a good lunch, based on the tide or the activity you booked, the boat will take you again to the beach of the Utende. A car will accompany you in the area near Kilindoni, the main town.

Day 5:
You can organize with the Lodge one of the many activities offered, such as the visit to other beaches and islets, the tour that takes you to the lighthouse located north of the island or enjoy a relaxing day and then savor an aperitif on the beach looking at a splendid sunset.

Day 6:
You will have a nice breakast and when the time comes you will be escorted to the airport to take your flight to DAR and to your next destination.
