Aqaba, Jordan |
Get your adrenaline pumping with our thrilling Wadi Rum 4X4 Jeep Tour ride and join us for an immersive experience of Aqaba's art and culture with our City Tour.
We will pick you up from your hotel in Aqaba for a short tour of Jordan's only Gulf city, including a visit to the Mamluk Castle or Aqaba Fort. It was the scene of a great Arab victory in July 1916, when this heavily defended Turkish stronghold fell to a daring Arab attack by camel. Lawrence of Arabia rode triumphantly from here to Cairo to bring the good news to an astonished General Allenby. The port of Aqaba became a major supply base for the advancing Arab revolt. The castle was originally built by the Mamluk Sultan Qansweh Al Ghuri in the 14th century. The fort is located next to the Aqaba Flagpole, which flies the flag of the Arab revolt against the Ottomans.
Next to the fort is the Aqaba Archaeological Museum. The museum next to the fort was once the residence of Sharif Hussein.
See the sandy beaches and coral reefs of Aqaba, which are some of the most pristine in the Red Sea. Then explore Wadi Rum on a 1.5 hour jeep ride into the Jordanian desert! Wadi Rum was best described by T.E. Lawrence as "vast, echoing and divine" and by the locals as the "Valley of the Moon".
Upon completion, you will be transferred back to your camp in Wadi Rum for drop-off or back to your hotel in Aqaba.
Don't miss out on this unforgettable adventure.
