Travel to a peaceful, traditional village amidst the countryside of Heraklion in the comfort of a modern vehicle. Just 30 minutes away from the city, your cooking experience will take place in a traditional stone village looking out over herb-scented hilltops and the valley of Heraklion. An experienced Cretan cooking instructor will welcome you and introduce you to the earthly flavors of Cretan cuisine.
Firstly, you will embark on a 30-minute tour referring to the objects and habits of cooking processes in past times. It is an integral part of the experience, as we regard the cooking lessons as a holistic cultural experience of Cretan life. Next comes the cooking lesson. You will prepare step-by-step famous Cretan appetizers, like 'dakos' – Cretan rusks topped with tomato sauce and feta cheese - and 'dolmadakia' – vine leaves stuffed with a rice mixture.
The time will finally come to taste all those Cretan goodies you’ve made, accompanied by local wine. The friendly atmosphere and picture-perfect scenery will capture your senses on every level, and you will return home with a whole new cooking skillset!
