After a three hour journey we arrive into the small colonial city of Taxco, situated in north of Guerrero state. Known as the Light City for its architectural charm, Taxco also represents an important mining centre famous for its silver.
Firstly we visit the Santa Prisca Church, one of few Baroque buildings in the state, and set off on a walking tour through the enchanting narrow and stone streets that wind their way round the city. Journey back through the ages thanks to Taxco’s historic atmosphere as well as its buildings and palaces that retain their original features.
Next we make a stop for lunch to delight you with delicious food in a local restaurant. Taxco’s gastronomy is well known in its own right with a rich variety of delicacies that you can try for yourself. After lunch, you have some free time to spend as you wish. Browse for artisan goods and soak up the atmosphere of Mexico’s colonial past.
