The Day of the Dead is a Mexican celebration that honors the ancestors, coinciding with the Catholic celebration of the Day of the Faithful Dead.



The celebration includes cleaning and decorating the tombs with colorful flowers, bringing food, enjoying chocolate, bread from the dead or bringing food to the cemetery.



The famous "calaveritas" are also created, which are verses where La Catrina (death) jokes with real life characters, hinting at some peculiar characteristic of the person in question, and ending with phrases where it is exposed that it will be taken to Tomb.



In most of the houses elaborate altars are elaborated, where the offerings are put, that can be food dishes, the bread of deads, glasses of water, mezcal, tequila, atole, and even toys for the souls of the children. All this is placed next to portraits of the deceased surrounded by candles.



We will visit the General Pantheon and the pantheons of Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán.
