Program details

Start your full-day trip from Barcelona on a comfortable bus with a guide on board. We offer you to visit one of the biggest cities north of Barcelona: Girona, a medieval city with one of the best preserved Jewish quarters in Europe and a stage where some chapters of one the seasons of the hit series Game of Thrones were shot.

Girona is a monumental city where you can experience its 2000 years of history thanks to its fortified walls and the small streets of the old city centre. There you will see “Forca Vella”, a roman foundation and the medieval expansion of the walls during the centuries XIV & XV.

You will enjoy a guided walking tour of the city centre, visiting the Cathedral, with its well-preserved medieval streets that lead you towards the famous pastel-coloured houses at the edge of the Oñar River. The old city centre of Girona holds an important artistic heritage.

You will be given some free time in Girona to enjoy the city by yourself.

In the afternoon, after you have returned to Barcelona, you will visit the mountain of Montserrat, which rises majestically up to 4,051 feet (1,236 metres). Montserrat is a multi-peaked rocky range formed of sedimentary rocks shaped by wind and rain. You will go up to Montserrat with the Cog – Wheel Train, which leaves you in the middle of the Monastery. It is a 15-minute trip with a privileged and spectacular view of the mountain.

Visit the Royal Basilica of Montserrat, which holds the famous 12th-century Romanesque carving of the Black Madonna. You will be able to see this famous statue of the Black Madonna from a distance.

You will be given free time to visit an audio-visual exhibition about Montserrat's history and creation and taste typical Montserrat liquors, handmade by the monks of the monastery.
