Discover the history of the Conquest of “La Antigua, Cempoala & Quiahuiztlán" In this tour we will take you to know the most interesting archaeological sites near the port of Veracruz and with a lot of history still to discover. One of them is Quiahuiztlán, whose name means "place of rain", which refers to the natural landslide at the top of The Metate Hill, which resembles petrified rain on the basaltic rock. It was simultaneously a city, a cemetery and a fortress. We will also appreciate the archaeological site considered as the Capital of the Totonaca Empire, Cempoala, one of the most important archaeological sites in the center of the state. Following in the footsteps of the Spaniards more than 500 years ago we will reach La Antigua The Old City, a small town full of history in each of its corners, there we will visit the vestiges of Cortes’house as well as the Hermitage of the Rosary, the first Catholic chapel in Mexico. We do not leave without first enjoying the delicious cocadas or its locally homemade ice-cream so typical of the place.
