Departure skirting the Llanquihue lake up to Frutillar, founded in 1856 as a boarding port for the settlements by the shore, Frutillar has been experiencing a significant tourist boom for the past few decades, due to the efforts of its inhabitants, who have restored and refurbished the traditional buildings and set up a promenade with flowers by the lake.
Visit to the Museo de la Colonización Alemana, an excellent insight to the lifestyle of the second generation of the German settlement; and finally the Ancestor’s Memorial, built to commemorate the first inhabitants, Later, the trip heads Northeast, to Puerto Octay. Lunch on the way to Puerto Octay. Return to Puerto Varas in the afternoon.
