Program details
Upon leaving the hotel with your Tour Guide in a private vehicle, you will take a road trip to the city of Campos do Jordão, located approximately two hours and a half from the city of São Paulo. Along the way you will visit the valley of Paraíba, passing through important cities like São José dos Campos, home to the Embraer company, one of the largest commercial airliner plane manufacturers in the world.
You’ll enjoy the impressive landscape while driving up the Mantiqueira ridge on the way to Campos. The Mantiqueira Ridge is one of the highest mountain ranges in Brazil making the scene along the way breathtaking.
Upon arrival to Campos do Jordão, you’ll immediately feel the European influence due to the architecture of the city and the local climate, common among cities located at high altitudes.
Known as Brazilian Switzerland, Campos is one of the most famous tourist destinations during the Brazilian winter. It attracts thousands of visitors due to its climate, good food, and its popular Classical Music Festival which takes place during the months of July and August.
During the trip, you’ll get to visit attractions such as Morro do Elefante, a place accessible through a cable car (admission not included), where visitors get a view of the valley in which the city is located.
Another main attraction is Boa Vista Palace. This is the official summer home for the Governor of the State of São Paulo and possesses a great amount of Brazilian artwork from well-renowned Brazilian artists like Tarsila to do Amaral, Di Cavalcanti, Candido Portinari, and Anita Malfatti (admission is not included).
You’ll even be able to choose to visit places like Borboletário da Cidade, an excellent opportunity to contemplate the different species of butterflies that live there or have a closer encounter with the way of life of the city by experimenting with its local homebrewed beer.
For lunch, your Tour Guide will recommend some restaurant options. You’ll have the option to pick among diverse possibilities that range from German food, lovely Bistros or restaurants specialized in dishes prepared with Trout (local fish). [Meals are not included]
Once the visit to Campos do Jordão has ended, you’ll take a relaxing ride back to the starting point.
