Program details

Ditch the city and head out into the wilderness for a half-day excursion to swim with the salmon, climb with the squirrels, and fly with the eagles above the clouds. Drive north to your first stop, the Capilano Salmon Hatchery. Learn all about one of British Columbia’s largest industries and get a fish's eye view of the life of West Coast salmon. In season you can even see them battling upstream to spawn in one of nature’s greatest spectacles.

Next, experience life in the canopy from a squirrel’s viewpoint as you cross the world’s longest suspension footbridge. The Capilano Suspension Bridge hangs 70 metres above a spectacular river canyon, among the tops of the lofty Douglas firs. Guaranteed to get your heart racing, it’s been drawing brave visitors to the park since 1889. There’s also the Treetop Adventure, a series of smaller suspension bridges giving you an opportunity to get up close with some incredible wildlife. And for the ultimate rush, the new cliffwalk attraction lets you ‘hang out’ over the Capilano Canyon itself. This incredible walkway hugs the cliff face and offers 360° views of the lush rainforest below.

Finally soar like an eagle to a viewpoint 1,100 metres (3,700ft) above the city on the Skyride at the Grouse Mountain Resort. Depending on the season, enjoy sleigh rides, ice-skating, and a lumberjack show, or visit the kings of the Canadian wilds, the grizzly bears, at the Refuge for Endangered Wildlife. Discover the True North strong and free with this awe-inspiring half day tour.
