Program details

Meet the Coconut Man, the world champion fire knife dancer also known as Chief Sielu, whose extravagant performances are widely regarded as the best and funniest Polynesian entertainment in the south Pacific. He starred in the movie, Chief, which screened at the Sundance Film Festival, and even threw the flaming spear that ignited the Olympic torch at a pre-Olympic ceremony in Salt Lake City.

On this wild event you will be able to interact up close and on a personal level with your Pacific Island hosts. These will encourage you to try out a few Hawaiian arts and crafts, have a go at coconut husking and even to learn the mellow moves of Hawaii’s most famous dance with some highly enjoyable hula lessons. Other classes include traditional techniques for making fire, weaving, tattooing and much more.

Later on, sink your teeth into a lavish Hawaiian luau feast as you sit back to enjoy the Coconut Man’s breath-taking performance. Chief Sielu carries out an astounding show alongside his tribe of fire twirling, comedic, dynamic Polynesian drummers, dancers and entertainers. The high point of your thrilling evening is the moment when Chief Sielu and his tribe fill the starry night sky with fire, a sight that will burn deep in your memory.
