The history of Mina dates back to 1608 when the land that the town sits on was granted to Captain Bernabé de las Casas. Spend a day immersing yourself in the rich history of the area and its surroundings.

Start your day with a trip to Boca de Potrerillos, an archaeological site just outside the town between two mountain ranges, forming a perfect gate to the Potrerillos Canyon. Here you can marvel at the multiple petroglyphs (rock paintings) that decorate the Sierra de la Zorra. Visit the Hacienda del Muerto, a treasure trove of historiographical information that dates back to the Mexican Revolution.

Your day does not end until you have visited the Bernabé de las Casas Museum for an insight into the lives of early settlers and the origins of the mining industry, before finishing with a stop at El Potrero Chico, a popular spot for rick climbers and mountaineers alike that commands magnificent views of the surrounding mountains.
