Program details
Consistently ranked among America’s most entertaining and innovative zoos, Audubon is home to some of the rarest species on earth. Admire the collection of Amur leopards, white alligators, orangutans, whooping cranes and white tigers, which are amongst the most endangered species in the world.
Immerse yourself in the Jaguar Jungle habitat and catch a glimpse of the beautiful large cats that inhabit this area of the zoo. The star attraction undoubtedly being the elegant and critically endangered Amur leopard, the only leopard subspecies adapted to a snowy climate. With only 30 remaining in the wild and just over 150 in captivity don’t miss this rare opportunity to see one of nature’s most spectacular creatures.
Equally stunning is the zoo’s resident white tiger and the group of white alligators that inhabit the award-winning Swamp Enclosure. This enclosure also houses many animals that are native to New Orleans and Louisiana. Proceed to the Stingray Touch Pool where you can tickle the top of these majestic creatures as they glide past your hand and listen to the curious sounds made by the rare whooping cranes. Be sure not to miss the sea lion enclosure and the elephant sare always a firm favourite with kids and adults alike.
