Start the tour with a visit to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, a modern architectural marvel of different styles that houses some jewels, such as a spectacular Persian carpet and an incredible chandelier. Continue with a drive through the ministry area and admire a number of modern buildings with touches of Islamic architecture.
Next, visit the fish market and the bustling Muttrah souk. In its narrow covered alleyways where the aroma of different exotic spices, coffee, ancient remedies and tempting perfumes fill the air.
Continue with a stop at the Bait Al Zubair Museum. Here you will find a valuable collection of ancient artefacts, from weapons, household utensils, costumes, and more that offer an insight into the history and culture of Oman.
Before the tour comes to end, enjoy a photo stop at the magnificent Al Alam Palace, the official residence of Sultan Qaboos, flanked by the twin Portuguese forts, Mirani and Jalali.
