Program details
Wake up early this morning to reach Borobudur for the sunrise leaving your hotel and then explore this massive Buddhist Temple- the largest in the world- and discover the incredible history behind its construction.
This temple is basically a structure of grey andesite stone with 10 terraces, each smaller than the one below, rising to the Great Stupa on top, standing about 40 meters above the ground. The bas-relief sculptures describing the life of Buddha on the walls of the lower six square levels are hailed as the largest and most complete ensemble of Buddhist reliefs in the world.
After breathing the fresh air and sitting at the top of the temple, and waiting for the sun to rise, in the silence and solitude of the peace, continue the visit to the other temple nearby, smaller, but equally important Candi Mendut with its three-meter statue of Buddha, and the temple of Candi Pawon.
