Phillip Island – home to one of the largest penguin colonies in Australia. More than 30,000 little penguins live along its shores and each night penguins emerge from the surf and waddle along the beach to their burrows.
As you cross the bridge from the mainland to the Island, you will be transfixed by the pristine beaches, an expansive bay and a dramatic coastline. Cross the Island to the Nobbies and enjoy a stroll along the boardwalk to experience the sound of waves crashing along this rugged coastline. See the blowhole and be mesmerised by the stunning views. You might even encounter your first penguin nests. From here it’s off to the world- famous penguin parade. As darkness falls, witness the magic of the penguins swimming ashore and waddling across the beach back to their homes in the sand dunes of Summerland Beach. This is an experience you will never forget.
