Program details

It´s no wonder why so many people fall in love with Cordoba, this magical ancient city was once the capital of Moorish Spain for over three centuries, ruling over an Empire that stretched from the Atlantic to the Persian Gulf.

Visit the city's many attractive monuments in the company of your knowledgeable local guide and discover a maze of narrow streets, quiet alleyways, sunny plazas and whitewashed courtyards, presided over the impressive Great Mosque, a masterpiece of mediaeval Islamic architecture.

After an early start from Seville, we'll start by exploring the majestic Alcazar del los Reyes Cristianos, a mediaeval Islamic Fortress, then occupied by the Catholic Kings of Spain. The next stop is the impressive Great Mosque, a spectacular testimony to the age of the Caliphate.

Then it's time to head for the Juderia, the mediaeval Jewish Quarter, a vibrant neighbourhood, packed with small shops, hole-in-the-wall bars and a great restaurant. We'll stroll down the Callejon de las Flores, a fiesta for the senses as we come onto the Plaza of Gran Maimonedes where we’ll visit the city's ancient synagogue, dating from 1315.

Now you'll have some time to explore the city for yourself. You can go shopping, sit back on a pavement café and watch the world go by or maybe try some wonderful Cordobese cooking. The area is packed with tapas bars as well as some great restaurants.
