Step back in time and experience a of decades past, as you head out for an evening camel safari through the sands of the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve. The most authentic way to trace the footsteps of Bedouin travellers, you'll head into the sandy desert for a seven hour excursion.



Get acquainted with your new travel companions as you meet your four-legged escorts before heading out into the dunes. Be prepared to be taken on a stunning journey through the cool air of the evening desert. With camels as your escorts, you'll be transported back to the traditional way of life of the original desert inhabitants. Feel yourself absorbed into this magical landscape; a caravan of people and camels silhouetted against the dark night sky.



Allow your camel convoy to navigate through the warm sands and starlit sky. Experience the unique wildlife in this fantastic landscape as you make your way to a Bedouin camp. Lit with the gentle flames of traditional lamps, view demonstrations of cultural activities such as camel rides, henna, falconry, music, dance, and bread making. Take this opportunity to learn how to prepare a local, time-honoured recipe handed down from generation to generation. Afterward, enjoy a delicious dinner beneath the twinkling stars.

Pick-up times will vary through-out the year: In order for you to plan your day, please be prepared for a pick-up between the following times:

October – February between 2:30pm-3:30pm;

March – May between 3pm-4pm;

June – September between 3:30pm-4:30pm.

Recommendations
The weather in the Dubai desert is very different than in the city.
During the day, we recommend loose fitting clothing and shoes that can be easily removed (flip flops/sandals/thongs).
At night, we recommend: from May to October loose clothing, shorts, t-shirts; from November to April dress in layers.
It can become quite cold in the desert as soon as the sun sets. Especially between December and February, the temperature can get down below 10 degrees Celsius.
