The first stop of this fascinating day will be the Gem market of Ratnapura where you you can watch the how stones and gems are traded, and if you want, you can even buy some wonderful stones at the best prices.



Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant before travelling to Eheliyagoda to visita heat treatment facility followed by a visit to traditional Quartz cutter and several, other alluvial gem mines in the area of Eheliyagoda. If you are willing to get dirty you can get into the mines and try your luck at finding a Sapphire… before heading back to your hotel after the day’s adventure.
