Highlights
- Meander your way through Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana as you hear the history
- Head in to the centre and see what's what right in the middle of town
- Go up, up and away in a cable car and find yourselves at the top of Urca Hill

In the morning, we daintily drift along the Southern side of Rio seemingly floating from one beach to another to pick-up those who are taking part in the tour. As you stroll through Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana you’ll hear the history that is so well hidden in the sand. Once you’ve got your fill of history, move on over to the Botafogo neighbourhood where Sugar Loaf stands. But before we step inside there, we will head downtown to find out a bit more about Rio’s history, passing by the Guanabara Palace, the famous Rio Sambodrome and the Metropolitan Cathedral, where we will have a little stop-off.

Next, on to Urca and to the Sugar Loaf where you’ll get the most amazing views from almost a bird’s eye view perspective. You will go up to the top with two stop-offs on the way. The first cable car takes you to Urca Hill which stands at 215m high which gives you the first glimpse at Guanabara Bay and its islands, Flamengo and Botafogo beaches, Santos Dummont Airport, the Rio-Niterói Bridge, Urca’s neighborhood and Corcovado Mountain.

Carry on up to the top on the second cable car ride all the way up to the Sugarloaf summit where you’ll be treated to stunning views across Guanabara Bay, Copacabana and of course the city centre. This boasts the stunning 360-degree view will pinpoint why Rio is known as “The Marvellous City”. After a bit, you will head down to munch out on an all-you-can-eat-style barbecue house. Brazilian Churrascarias (Barbecue places) offer a wide variety of sides and alternative options so not matter what your eating style you’ll leave feeling full.

Once you’re fed and watered, you will hop in a van to Santa Teresa, a neighbourhood where tradition and a laidback attitude go hand in hand. Along with that comes street art pieces like the one-of-a-kind: Selaron Steps which were thought up by Jorge Selarón. Continue on to the Tijuca National Park where we’ll set off from the visitor centre. We round things up by trekking up to the statue where we will spend some time taking in the views from one of the world’s most famous landmarks.
