Carry Salzburg in your pocket with the Salzburg Card and follow in the footsteps of the city’s most famous son with the Mozart tour. The 24-hour Salzburg Card gives you free access to many of the tops sights and attractions, free public transport services in the city and discounts on cultural events as well as some tours.
The Mozart tour begins at the Mirabell Palace, which along with its beautifully landscaped gardens is a Unesco World Heritage Site. Pass the Mozarteum music academy and the Marionette Theatre. Continue to the Markart Square and see the State Theatre, the beautiful baroque Trinity Church and Mozart’s former home.
Follow the river along part of the old fortifications to the Hellbrunn Palace for a brief photo stop. The gardens and fountains are simply gorgeous. On the way back to the city centre, pass Frohnburg Castle (which was the Von Trapp family home in the Sound of Music) and Nonnberg Abbey. Re-enter the old city through the Sigmund Gate, pass the Great Festival Hall and Old University, the famous Horse Pond, and the picturesque Getreidegasse shopping street as well as the ancient St Blasius Church.
