Program details
A spectacular sunset adds a whole new dimension to this fully narrated, 90-minute sightseeing tour. With this cruise you'll be introduced to all the history, sights and lore that Boston Harbour has to offer, plus you'll be on hand to witness the USS Constitution's sunset serenade as she fires her cannon and lowers her flag ceremoniously signalling the day's end.
USS Constitution is a heavy frigate of the United States Navy launched in 1797 (the world's oldest commissioned naval vessel afloat). It is a wooden-hulled, three-masted ship named by President George Washington after the Constitution of the United States of America. Constitution, during the War of 1812 against Great Britain, captured numerous merchant ships and defeated five British warships: HMS Guerriere, Java, Pictou, Cyane and Levant becoming very famous for her actions. The battle with Guerriere earned her the nickname of ''Old Ironsides''.
You will definitely appreciate the sunset cruise: getting out in the harbour with the cool breezes is just so welcoming! The cruise leaves from the Long Wharf and points to the mouth of the harbour, up to the Boston Light. You admire the sunset behind the Boston skyline which is delightful.
