Program details
Give yourself the ultimate treat to the senses with this flawless combination of fine Italian cuisine with the timeless perfection of one of the most famous operas of all time: Giuseppe Verdi’s world famous La Traviata. The blended pleasures of relishing a delicious meal and hearing an impeccable opera are the best way to experience Italian high culture. Join this one of a king opportunity and feel like a real sybarite.
To begin your fabulous evening, enjoy tasting a delicious and heart-warming selection of morsels cooked in the most typical Tuscan style. Then, once your hunger is quenched and the tastes of Tuscany, easily one of the most romantic regions of the Italian peninsula, have invaded your system, it is time to sit back, relax and enjoy the love story between Violetta and Alfredo in La Traviata, one of the masterpieces of music’s Romantic period.
After the lights have dimmed and the overture has ended, the story begins. During a party, the beautiful courtesan Violetta finds out that Alfredo has been madly in love with her for about a year. A short while afterwards, they are seen living enjoying a life together near Paris. However, because of Violetta’s past reproachful behaviour, she is approached by the father of Alfredo and asked to leave the young man. Violetta then sacrifices herself and Alfredo, unaware, hurts her. Some months later, Violetta is dying and, when Alfredo learns the truth, he runs to her side, only arrives too late and she passes away in his arms.
