Milan is Italy's commercial powerhouse and one of the world's fashion and design capitals but there's a lot more to this buzzing metropolis than a cool club scene, trendy restaurants and stylish pavement cafés. It's also home to an incredible collection of art and culture including La Scala the world's most venerated opera house, the enormous Duomo Cathedral as well as one of Leonardo da Vinci's greatest masterpieces, the Last Supper.
This half-day tour of Milan including a walking tour is an ideal introduction to Italy's most stylish city. We'll visit the Galleria Vittorio Emmanuele, probably the world's most elegant shopping mall, the impressive Sforza Castle with its crenellated battlements housing several museums, the Duomo, one of the largest religious buildings in the world and a jewel of the Northern Italian Gothic style. with over a hundred spires and 3,200 statues. We'll also have a look around the La Scala theatre and museum, with its fascinating collection of musical instruments, costumes and portraits. However the highlight of this tour has to be an exclusive fast-track visit to Leonardo's Last Supper in the Church of Santa Maria della Grazie. This famous and mysterious 15th Century fresco, lovingly restored after centuries of deterioration has enjoyed even greater popularity ever since its appearance in Dan Brown's bestseller the Da Vinci Code.
