- St Peters Basilica
You may concur that this is the architectural achievement of the Renaissance. A church of immense physical dimensions, covering more ground than several premier division football grounds, with a dome, that frankly puts other domes to shame.
Completely resurrected in 1626, the artists Bramante, Raphael, Peruzzi, Antonio Sangallo the Younger, and Michelangelo all pitched in to put together a showpiece that even Emperor Constantine, who had built the first church in 349 AD, would be proud of.
- Piazza Navona
Totally rebuilt from the original 1st century Stadium of Domitian now you can lose yourself amongst classical and majestic Baroque Roman architecture and art.
- The Palazzo Pamphili , the family palace of Innocent X, who reigned in 1644-1655 and which is now the Brazilian Embassy.
- Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi or Fountain of the Four Rivers (1651) by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, topped by the Obelisk of Domitian, brought here in pieces from the Circus of Maxentius.
- Sant'Agnese in Agone by Francesco Borromini and Girolamo Rainaldi.
