Walking through the heart of the city we discover its historic and contemporary sites. You’ll be guided to the most interesting parts of Hamburg as your guide regales you with fascinating anecdotes.
Start at St Michael’s Church, a prominent and famous landmark, and head to the Grocers’ Apartments (Krameramtswohnungen), the oldest surviving residential buildings in central Hamburg. Admire the incredible Elbe Philharmonic Hall and explore the Warehouse District (Speicherstadt) as well as the newly developed Hafencity – Europe’s most important city planning project. Hear about the Hamburg swans, the famous “Stoertebeker" pirate, the meaning behind the Hygieia fountain and much more. The tour finishes at the town hall (Rathaus), an impressive end point to our journey into Hamburg’s past.
