HIGHLIGHTS:
* Get to know the Alhambra with the help of an expert guide
* Discover the Alcazaba as well as Generalife Palace and Gardens
* Soak up the inimitable atmosphere of a flamenco show in the heart of Sacromonte
The Alhambra is located on a hill overlooking the city. This beautiful palace complex is the culmination of centuries of Islamic art and architecture in Moorish Spain, the flowering of a unique culture.
Your knowledgeable guide will show you around the old fortress, known as La Alcazaba, the Royal Palace Complex with its Harem, the Court of the Myrtles with its large pond used for cooling the buildings in the summer heat, the magnificent Hall of the Ambassadors and the breathtakingly beautiful Court of the Lions and the Hall of the Abencerrajes. We also
visit the Generalife Palace and Gardens used as a summer palace and retreat by the Nazrid emirs of Granada. Admire the Patio de la Acequia with its long pools framed by flowerbeds, fountains, colonnades and pavilions, and the Sultana's Garden, thought to be inspired by the style of medieval Persian Gardens.
Then when night falls you’ll have the unique opportunity to experience the tragedy, joy and sheer sensuality of Andalusian culture through a genuine flamenco show inside a cave in the gypsy quarter of Sacromonte. First we enjoy a stroll around the traditional Moorish quarter of El Albaicin from where you can
admire an unforgettable view of the Alhambra lit up against the night sky. Then we’ll make the climb to Sacromonte, the Holy Mountain, traditional home of gypsy culture in Granada.
Enjoy a traditional flamenco show at La Zambra, one of the city’s top tablaos, over drinks or dinner, as you prefer.
